Development of Suitable Raw Material

We are tackling one of the world's biggest environmental problems, plastic pollution, caused by the slow degradation of the 380 million tons of plastic produced yearly and their inefficient recycling. To this end, we have launched a groundbreaking project with METU to recycle waste plastics.

We aim to convert the polyolefin-type polymers that constitute 90% of waste plastics into more valuable products and develop innovative technology to accomplish this. Specifically, we are researching a process that will produce liquid raw materials suitable for refinery and petrochemical inputs from waste polyolefins at lower temperatures and with higher selectivity than current methods. Our focus is on catalytic/non-catalytic pyrolysis/hydrogenolysis methods. We aim to create new opportunities in circular economy and sustainability by achieving this.
